ESCOLA JOSEP MARIA DE SAGARRA
Nora Nebreda, resident artist
Nora has a degree in Fine Arts and has the title of Superior Technician in Artistic Ceramics. Sagarra School is traditional, but in Chilhood Education courses is being incorporated the environments methodology, where the students can choose which environment they want to go.
When the students are in the Espai C workshop, they choose what they like. While students are working, Nora helps and advises them if they have any questions or if they do not know, she proposes a brainstorm. The ceramist tries to help each other, advised each other and wants the children be more independent as possible without having to resort to it.
In the workshop may have up to eight students of different ages. Nora says that one of the advantages of this space and one of the things they like more is that there are people from other courses.
Sometimes, the students are interested in the work of Nora, and she shows them. Sometimes, if there is a good atmosphere, they work at the same table to explain what they are producing: "we play, laugh, work, share and sometimes we get angry."
The most frequently used material is clay, although there are times that also paint, especially with watercolors and markers. Occasionally, they have worked with recycled cardboard and magazines to make collages.
