Espai C de creació is a program for primary schools in Barcelona that is based on recive new artists into the school. It takes the name "Espais C" under the umbrella of Room 13 International maintaining links with the international network.

​

The new artist gets a studio and the school gets a new creative space that each center articulates with a mutual agreement with the artist involving children from the beginning.

​

Its main objective is to introduce the art continuously into the school, through the creation of a free artistic study coordinated by the school children together with a resident artist.

THE ASSEMBLY OF ESPAI C

The organization and the decisions surrounding the Espai C are agreed and shared between children, teachers and the artist. in each Espai C it has created an Espai C assembly, formed by representatives of students, one representative of the teachers and the artist, with the definition of different roles to decided and provide solutions to the needs of each studio.

  • Encourage the creativity of the children, putting them in contact with young artists and their creative processes.

  • Facilitate the contact between education and culture.

  • Setting thinking spaces through the philosophy and the arts.

  • Improving methodologies, the organizations and the facilities of schools to improve the inclusiveness of schools and the school success.

  • Making sustainable the Espai C project in the center.

  • Provide students autonomy from the shared management of the space with the artist.
